Millstone Pottery Classes

Pottery classes are now available.  Each class will have a maximum of 3 people which allows for a lot of hands on instruction.

We are currently offering 2 courses.  Hand building a mug and Sgraffito tray carving courses.  The studio is located in a barn that houses livestock so those with allergies be aware.  Also there are no washrooms at the barn.  All you need to bring is you and maybe an apron so you don't get too dirty....but that's half the fun!

So lets get creative and play with some mud!!

Sgraffito

A technique used to decorate pottery by applying underglaze colors at the leather hard stage prior to bisque and "scratching" off some of the underglaze to expose the clay body below which gives a contrast of color.  This is well worth the extra time and effort as the final outcome is stunning!!

ART Wear Jewelry

I have always loved to create with Nature as an inspiration...the simplicity of organic shapes are elegant and appealing.

Some of my early pieces were simply bent brass wire, leather cording and  beads.  Online courses, books and experimentation provided the confidence I neeeded to begin cutting, manipulating , soldering and etching metal.

After several years of using our kitchen as a studio, I have a designated room in our home with lots of natural light and space for me to spread my tools and supplies out and happily make the mess I need to.

Each piece is  original and hand crafted using brass, copper and sterling silver.  I love the look of mixed metals and how they complement each other.

BARNWOOD Designs

Artisan cabinets by Ken Watson

These beautiful Barnwood cabinets are made from wood salvaged from a barn built in the 1950's in the northern interior of British Columbia.  Every piece will be different with its own personality as the wood shows its age with a silver hue and small dents and nail holes reflecting its time served through harsh winters and warm summers.
